Shelters near you need help to save more lives. In 2020, nearly 6,940 dogs and cats were killed in animal shelters across Virginia, but together with your help, we’re changing that.

Best Friends helps Virginia achieve lifesaving goals

With several in-state powerhouse agencies driving lifesaving work and strategies toward the goal of achieving no-kill in Virginia, Best Friends supports (as needed) state partners, including the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies. Several agencies also lend their operational and programmatic strengths to surrounding states to increase lifesaving efforts via peer-to-peer mentorships and partnerships.

While only shelter network partners are represented on the dashboard, all network partners are working to save cats and dogs.
